Snapshots from another Summer in Europe

After 3 months in Austria, the sun was greeting us on the final approach to Calgary

Rock guide Exam in the "Wilder Kaiser" mountains. I was lucky to spend almost 2 weeks together with a lot of awesome people trying to figure out what rock guiding is all about.

Rock guide Exam- where do we go from here?
Lisi stepping it up on the remote part of the Carnici Alps, "Via del Vino", an amazing adventure without bolts and crowds.

Luka, his cousin Lina, and my brother Walter on a classic multi pitch above my hometown, the "Buegeleisenkante"

family outing at the Johannishuette, one of the most beautiful boulder areas of the region

Looking for higher ground to escape the demanding cows-Bouldearea Johannishut.

The Dolomites around Cortina, seen at sunset from the Lagazuoi Hut. The massive Monte Pelmo in the back Center. Below his Summit in the foreground, a sharp eye can make up the Nuvolau hut, the oldest hut in the Dolomites. We will hike there the next day and spend the night there in hopes for another unforgettable sunset.
"Standing Ovations", 7 pitches of pure insecurity, Grandma has the kids for the day and we have nothing better to do than scare the shit of ourselfes .
Ferrata action close to town.

The Galitzenklamm close to Lienz,  a playground for old and young.
Christian, a great friend, on the 600m North Face of Laserz, the "Che Guevara Crack"
Picking flowers for your loved ones on the descent...who says climbers are only hard core
Scheibenwand, "Standing Ovations"

Bella -Munich Airport "Franz Josef Strauss"

the first multi pitch for Bella, she was a trooper!

the last pitch of "Innuendo", a new climb I did with Christian on one of those rare magic days in July.

Another outing with Kimby with Oma child sitting below the clouds. "Silversurfer" above Lienz, 8 pitches of  bolt protected 5.11 climbing on solid rock, and a cold can of beer waiting in the stream below the cliffs.

A memorial high in the mountains for a lost friend of mine, Xaver left us way too early.
June 1997, Pilastro/Tofana

Lisi in the Carnici Dolomites, "Via del Vino"

Reini, the "Urviech", in his new route "Una scala nelle cielo", 11 pitches and no bolts.
